Workshop - Draw a repeat pattern: Floral (Re-do)

“Floral patterns are very popular in the licensing world, so this is a great way to start a floral collection for your portfolio”

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you booked a ticket for the first workshop, you’ll also be able to access this one! This workshop is a re-do. Personal note from Melanie: I was quite flustered (and honestly going through a tough time) the week this workshop happened and after watching the recording, I realised I missed quite a lot of things in my process. That’s why I’m doing a re-do! People who bought tickets to the first workshops can come to this one (free of charge - you’ll be sent a link) and anyone who missed out on the first one can come to this one!

Above are a few examples of floral repeat patterns created by your teacher Melanie Johnsson.

In this fun workshop, you’ll be creating a floral repeat pattern - exploring more or less abstract shapes, textures and colours. You’ll be following Melanie’s process of creating a repeat pattern on Photoshop - from sketches to final seamless pattern. Melanie will give you her best tips and tricks to create exciting patterns and colour palettes as well as sharing the best way to export your work to license it to clients and brands.

What you’ll need: What you currently use to draw digitally a.k.a a computer or tablet with Photoshop (if you use Procreate, you can still learn quite a lot from this workshop, although Melanie will be showing you her own process, which is on Photoshop).

Where: This online workshop will run on Zoom on Tuesday 7th March 2023. It will last 1 hour and 30 minutes. The workshop will be recorded so you will be able to access it later on too.

Good to know: You’ll be able to ask questions during the workshop, through the chat or directly via video. Mimi’s workshops are meant to be lovely, lively events where you to feel at ease and participate if you want to.
